Berlin Cocktail Week 2026 - The Golden Twenties

A knock on an unassuming door, dim lighting, the scent of cigar smoke, and the sounds of swing music wafting through a hidden basement bar: the fascination with the Roaring Twenties remains as strong as ever. From September 4 to 13, 2026, Berlin Cocktail Week will bring this glamorous era back to life. More than 30 of the capital’s best bars will take cocktail fans on a high-proof journey through time—inspired by the Prohibition stories of the 1920s and at an attractive flat rate.

The Concept: Speakeasy Vibes for 9 Euros per Drink

Following last year’s successful debut, the festival returns for its second edition in 2026. The concept is simple and inviting: Over 30 participating bars will each create two exclusive cocktails for a flat price of 9 euros.

The “Golden Twenties” theme highlights a fascinating historical contrast:

  • In the U.S. (1920–1933): During Prohibition, alcohol was strictly forbidden. People partied in secret back-room bars—known as speakeasies or blind pigs—in hiding.
  • In Berlin: At the same time, the German capital was experiencing its legendary “Golden Twenties”—an era of sexual freedom, jazz clubs, a thriving bar culture, and unbridled ingenuity.

Prohibition Anecdotes in a Glass: Legendary Drinks Reimagined

Berlin’s most talented bartenders have delved deep into history to create this year’s menu. Many of the more than 60 event creations feature premium spirits such as Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Martin Miller’s Original Gin, Cucielo Vermouth, or Tia Maria and tell true stories from the 1920s:

  • Blind Pig (Voulez Vous Bar, Prenzlauer Berg): A nod to the speakeasies of the U.S. Made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Tia Maria Cold Brew, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters, it brings the thrill of a speakeasy to your glass.
  • Bourbon Bee’s Knees (Suspiria, Kreuzberg): During Prohibition, bartenders used honey and lemon to mask the harsh taste of moonshine gin. This variation elegantly reimagines the classic with a bourbon base.
  • Clover Club (Eingang Zwei, Kreuzberg): Once the favorite of the most style-conscious women of the 1920s—made with Martin Miller’s Gin, raspberry, vermouth, and fresh lemon.
  • Gatsby’s Revival No. 3 (Bar Basalt, Wedding): A nod to the famous “Corpse Reviver,” which served as a hangover cure for night owls back in the day.
  • Amélie & Harry’s 75 (Bar Amélie, Mitte): A tribute to Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, the place of longing for hard-drinking American expats.
  • Pear Pressure (100-gram bar, center): A drink made with roasted peach cordial, sparkling wine, and real gold leaf—a nod to the opulence of the era.
  • Glanz & Gloria (Salut! Classic Bar, Schöneberg): Vermouth, mint-lime cordial, sparkling wine, and gold leaf bring the speakeasy vibe right to the heart of Schöneberg.

To help guests navigate Berlin’s bar scene with ease, the organizers have developed a special navigation tool: The participating venues are plotted on a map modeled after the Berlin subway map. The map is available online and as a printed flyer in the bars.
