The 10 Best Events in Berlin in March
March is a month of new beginnings in Berlin. The city is slowly shaking off its winter slumber, cafés are putting their tables back outside, and there's that typical feeling of “it's almost time” in the parks. People are still wearing hats and coats, but somewhere between the late afternoon sun and street music, you can feel it: spring is coming.
I've been living in this city for over twenty years and every year I notice how March is a promise: of light, movement, and encounters. Between the last remnants of snow and the first buds, Berlin offers countless opportunities to be inspired, to celebrate, or simply to be outside again.
That's why I've put together my top 10 events in Berlin in March: a mix of culture, music, dance, enjoyment, and movement. No tourist tips, just genuine recommendations that I would give to my friends.
1. C2C - Country to Country (March 6-8)
Europe's biggest country music festival is coming to the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin-Friedrichshain: three full days of top international acts, a warm-up session on March 5 at the Bluebird Café, plus newcomers and big emotions.
Our tip: Go with friends who love live music. Secure evening tickets early.
2. MaerzMusik (March 20-29)
Festival for contemporary music and sound art with concerts, installations, and performances at several locations throughout the city. This is an event where you can let yourself be surprised. No “mainstream,” but soundscapes that linger in your mind.
Our tip: Choose a performance concert where you don't know too much about the artists in advance (it pays to be open-minded!).
3. Berlin Salsa Festival - Fiesta Elegante (March 27)
Two days full of salsa beats, workshops, international dance stars, and DJs at Atelier Gardens in Tempelhof. Perfect if you want to dance or just love good music and a great atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to this event.
Our tip: If you're new to dancing, take a workshop in the morning and then enjoy the party in the evening.
4. Berlin Balboa Weekend (March 5-8)
Four days of dancing: Balboa (a type of swing dance), live music, DJs, pre- and after-parties in Berlin's dance and club scene. Berlin Balboa Weekend 2026 If you love dancing and enjoy movement, this is the place for you.
Our tip: Bring comfortable shoes and maybe just go for one evening if you don't want to do the whole thing.
5. European Arts and Crafts Days (March 27-29)
Arts and crafts, designers, workshops open their doors – fashion, lifestyle, workshops. My impression: I often find small market and design events like this very charming.
Our tip: Perfect for a Saturday morning: stroll, discover, be inspired.
6. Spring run “Run Around the Müggelturm” (March 22)
Running event in southeast Berlin: nature, distance, spring air. A wonderful combination of escaping the city and being active – ideal for recharging your batteries.
Our tip: start early in the morning, perhaps extend the route a little, and enjoy a good breakfast after your run.
7. Klavierfest Weißensee (March 20-22)
Three days of piano music in Berlin-Weißensee, this time with a focus on Bach. I love chamber music and small festivals like this in a cozy atmosphere.
Our tip: Choose a concert on Sunday afternoon – it's quieter then and has a special atmosphere.
8. ITB Berlin Trade Fair (March 3-5)
International travel fair in Berlin with exhibitors from all over the world, trends, and lectures. Even if you don't travel for work, it's interesting to discover what's currently happening in the world.
Our tip: Go in the morning, take a map of the halls with you, and just let yourself be surprised.
9. Evening concert “Harald Lesch – Four Seasons in Climate Change” (March 6)
Concert with the Merlin Ensemble Vienna in the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie – music on the theme of climate. A clever combination of classical music and a current topic.
Our tip: Secure good seats and have a glass of wine in the foyer afterwards.
10. Berlin Chocolate Festival (date still to be confirmed in March)
Two-day festival all about chocolate & cocoa – food stalls, workshops, tastings. A real treat with delicious surprises.
Our tip: forget about calories, try everything and share with friends.
March in Berlin offers a fine spectrum: music, dance, nature, trade fairs, and enjoyment - all with a touch of spring. My favorite this year: MaerzMusik, because I love musical experiments. But the Salsa Festival is also high on my list.
