Pizza Village Celebrates Its German Debut in Berlin (May 2026)
Berlin is already considered a haven for foodies, but at the end of May, the capital is in for a culinary highlight in a class of its own. From May 28 to 31, 2026, a genuine slice of Naples is coming to Friedrichshain: the world-famous Caputo Pizza Village is celebrating its long-awaited German debut at the Napoleon Komplex.
What began in the streets of Naples in 2011 and has since attracted over 10 million visitors is now making waves in Berlin as an international festival hit. Spanning an impressive 2,000 square meters, the venue will transform into a lively “Little Italy” for four days, filled with culinary delights, music, and Italian flair.
World Records and UNESCO Heritage in Tow
Caputo Pizza Village is not just a street food market—it has already been nominated as the “Best Food Festival in the World” and holds the official Guinness World Record for the longest pizza in the world (a staggering 1,853.88 meters!). The festival brings a deep appreciation for tradition to Berlin: after all, the art of Neapolitan pizzaioli has been an official UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2017. In Friedrichshain, this art form is celebrated in its purest, most authentic form.
The Lineup: 10 Top Stations and Gluten-Free Options
A total of ten stations will feature some of the most renowned pizzerias straight from Italy. In addition to well-known icons of the scene, the entire, top-tier lineup is now set:
- Errico Porzio & Vincenzo Capuano (names that set the standard worldwide)
- Jessica De Vivo (one of Italy’s most famous female pizza chefs)
- Antica Pizzeria da Gennaro, Rossopomodoro, and Lucignolo Bella Pizza
- Monella and Prometeo
- Partenope 081, a real highlight for those with allergies, as they’ll also be serving gluten-free pizzas!
Each of these spots serves the timeless classics Margherita and Marinara—but also brings a signature pizza created especially for the Berlin crowd to the festival.
A curious highlight: pizza as ice cream!
A culinary sensation of a special kind has just been confirmed: Antonio Tomasello, together with Duo Sicilian Ice Cream, will present two exclusive gelato creations that translate the world of Neapolitan pizza into Sicilian artisanal ice cream. Adventurous foodies can look forward to Marinara gelato (with tomato, basil, and garlic) as well as Bufala gelato (with focaccia crumble)!
Warm-up: The pop-up series in the neighborhood
If you don’t want to wait until the official festival start, you can get in the mood ahead of time at two exclusive pop-up events. From 2 to 7 p.m. each day, there will be Neapolitan pizza, DJ sets, and an unbeatable neighborhood deal (Margherita + Aperol Spritz for just 10 euros):
- Friday, May 22: At Ripieno Food Club (Wiener Straße, Kreuzberg)
- Saturday, May 23: At Partenope 081 (Simon-Dach-Straße, Friedrichshain)
More Than Just Food: The Festival Program & Special Deals
In addition to the ovens, Caputo Pizza Village offers a true festival experience for the whole family, featuring pizza classes, workshops, tastings, games, and live entertainment.
Admission to the festival is completely free. To avoid long wait times, a “Special Deal Menu” is available in advance online via QR code: A fresh Neapolitan pizza including a drink costs just 15 euros.
