The 10 most beautiful Christmas Markets in Berlin (2025)
Here is our very own guide to ten of the most beautiful (and diverse) Christmas markets in Berlin (out of a total of 60 Christmas markets in the capital). Each market has its own charm: from fairytale to wild, from traditional to Scandinavian, from rooftop gardens to deep forests. Perfect for spontaneous evenings, romantic dates, or simply for a little warmth in the Berlin winter.
We have selected the 10 most beautiful Christmas markets in Berlin for you:
1. Christmas market at Gendarmenmarkt / Bebelplatz

One of the most atmospheric markets in the city: elegant pagoda tents, arts and crafts, excellent food (from tarte flambée to wild game goulash) and creative gift ideas. It's most beautiful in the early evening when musicians perform and the square glows golden.
The historic buildings (German Cathedral, French Cathedral, Concert Hall) bathed in light create winter magic. Ideal for a date or a walk with friends in the run-up to Christmas.
Address: Bebelplatz, 10117 Berlin
Period: November 25–December 31, 2025
Opening hours: Daily 12 p.m.–10 p.m.
Admission: Usually €1–2, children free
2. Charlottenburg Castle Christmas Market

In front of the baroque castle, the market has a fairytale-like elegance: soft music, fine handicrafts, and high-quality cuisine: raclette, game dishes, and chestnuts. My tip: stand under the illuminated castle facade and just take a deep breath.
Over 250 stalls offer handicrafts, a fairy tale tent, regional specialties, and international delicacies, accompanied by music and light installations. There are often carousels or smaller attractions for children (perfect if you're traveling with your family).
Address: Spandauer Damm 10–22, 14059 Berlin
Period: November 25–December 26, 2025
Opening hours: Daily 2–10 p.m.
Admission: Free
3. Christmas market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church

The classic market at the Memorial Church feels like a spontaneous winter date every year – loud, lively, smelling of mulled wine and mushroom pan. I love the mix of city hustle and Christmas romance, especially when you walk over from Ku'damm with a bag of roasted almonds.
Address: Breitscheidplatz, 10787 Berlin
Period: November 24, 2025 – January 4, 2026
Opening hours: Daily from approximately 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission: Free
4. Berlin Christmas market at the Red City Hall (Mitte)

Around the Neptune Fountain, Christmas feels almost like a movie set: an ice rink, Ferris wheel, fairy lights, and the smell of cotton candy waft over the historic backdrop. My tip: take a ride on the Ferris wheel when the city glitters in the evening light – Berlin from above is especially magical here.
Address: Rathausstraße 15, 10178 Berlin
Dates: November 24–December 30, 2025
Opening hours: Monday–Friday, noon–10 p.m.; Saturday/Sunday, from 11 a.m.
Admission: free (rides cost extra)
5. Lucia Christmas Market at the Kulturbrauerei (Prenzlauer Berg)

The Scandinavian-inspired market at the Kulturbrauerei is one of my absolute favorites: fire pits, Scandinavian specialties such as elk sausage and glögg, and a wonderfully cozy courtyard atmosphere.
The Kulturbrauerei's courtyard with its old brick walls, fairy lights, and fire pits makes the market particularly charming: a little winter island in the middle of the city.
My insider tip: the “Himmelswärmer” – a honey liqueur that will save even the coldest evenings.
Address: Schönhauser Allee 36, 10435 Berlin
Period: November 25–December 22, 2025
Opening hours: Mon–Fri 3–10 p.m., Sat/Sun 1–10 p.m.
Admission: free
6. Historic Christmas market on the RAW grounds (Friedrichshain)
At the alternative market on the RAW grounds, medieval atmosphere meets Berlin subculture: fire shows, acrobats, crafts, mead, archery, and a relaxed, creative crowd. Perfect if you're looking for something a little less “polished” and a little more “Berlin.”
For children and families: wooden carousel, Ferris wheel, fun attractions, small bandwagon, and for those who are interested: archery or crossbow shooting.
Address: Revaler Str. 99, 10245 Berlin
Period: Advent weekends
Opening hours: usually 12 noon–10 p.m.
Admission: approx. €2–3
7. Spandau Old Town Christmas Market

One of the largest and most traditional markets in the city: half-timbered stalls, choirs, and many lovingly designed stands offering handicrafts, regional products, and classic Christmas market food: mulled wine, bratwurst, and traditional sweets.
The illuminated market square in front of St. Nikolai Church is particularly beautiful – a real contrast to the central markets.
Our tip: Ideal for a relaxed Sunday stroll.
Address: Carl-Schurz-Str. 2–6, 13597 Berlin
Period: November 25–December 23, 2025
Opening hours: Daily 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
Admission: Free
8. Märchenmarkt Jagdschloss Grunewald

A small, fairytale market is created in the forest around the old castle: torches, crafts, historical costumes – everything seems slow-paced and very charming. Perfect after a winter walk through the Grunewald forest.
Address: Hüttenweg 100, 14193 Berlin
Period: 1st weekend of Advent (usually at the beginning of December)
Opening hours: Sat/Sun approx. 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Admission: approx. €3–6
9. Klunkerkranich – Christmas market above the rooftops (Neukölln)
The alternative market on the roof of the Neuköllner Arcaden offers street food, Berlin handicrafts, and an incredibly beautiful view over the city. With a glass of mulled wine in your hand and music playing in the background, it feels like a Berlin winter festival with friends.
Address: Karl-Marx-Str. 66, 12043 Berlin
Period: Advent weekends
Opening hours: usually 12 noon–10 p.m.
Admission: €4–6
10. Christmas market at Alexanderplatz (Mitte)

If you're in the mood for a mix of fairground and Christmas market, this is the place for you: a Ferris wheel, roller coaster, sweet crêpes, and hearty street food make this market perfect for a spontaneous, playful evening. I always treat myself to a portion of Schmalzkuchen here.
Address: Alexanderstraße 7, 10178 Berlin
Dates: November 22–December 30, 2025
Opening hours: Daily, 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
Admission: Free
Christmas in Berlin is as diverse as the city itself: sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes glittering, sometimes very simple—and that's exactly what makes it so magical. Each of these markets tells its own little winter story, and sometimes a spontaneous visit is all it takes to bring a little warmth to December. Maybe you'll discover a new favorite place this time, or maybe you'll return to an old one. But no matter where you go, a Berlin winter evening with mulled wine in your hand always feels a little bit like home.
