You want to vibrate to the frantic rhythm of Friedrichshain, Berlin's most alternative district, known for its bars, street art and music scene, but you have an economic capacity similar to that of Greece in 2008?

Look no further! We have listed the best youth hostels in Friedrichshain for you based on value for money, comfort, location and atmosphere.

1. Das DDR Hostel

Playing the historical card by its location in the former Soviet zone, the DDR Hostel is a themed hostel decorated with retro furniture and 1970s wallpaper - typical of East Germany. Offering ideal value for money for short stays, we can only recommend this most original place.

Price: 10-15€ (dormitory max. 10 persons) and 50€ for a single room.
Free WIFI in the lobby
Address: Wriezener Karree 5, 10243 Berlin.

2. Industriepalast Hostel & Hotel

Located in a red brick building on Warschauer Straße, Industriepalast has exchanged industrial machinery for comfortable beds! The establishment has retained the charm of the former factory in which it is located and has brought modernity and comfort to the building. Very good location: just a stone's throw from the Warschauer Straße underground station, close to the Friedrichshain nightlife, the RAW Tempel and Simon-Dach-Straße with its many bars, but also the lively Schlesisches Tor district in Kreuzberg. The building is also a hotel, so the service is also very good. The only downside - the somewhat old-fashioned furniture in the dormitories (stains on the mattresses).

Price: 10-20€ (dormitory max. 8 persons) and 40-50€ for a single room.
WIFI free of charge / optional: dormitories for women only
Address: Warschauer Str. 43, 10243 Berlin Germany

3. Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat

A hostel in a boat: the Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat promises to sleep rocked by the waves! Located on the banks of the Spree, at the beginning of the East Side Gallery, it is the ideal place if you want to alternate your evenings between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. With more events on the spot: aperitif on the deck, boat party...

Price: 15-20€ (dormitory max. 6 persons) and from 30€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bar and FLOATING lounge / bike rental / breakfast - buffet "all you can eat" for 8€. Address: Mühlenstraße 73, 10243 Berlin

4. A&O Berlin Friedrichshain

Only a 5-minute walk from the S-Bahn Ostkreuz, A&O offers quick and easy access to all important points in Berlin. The hostel offers single, double and dormitory rooms with 4 to 8 beds.

The youth hostel has a playground and lawn with volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a rather nice bar in the inner courtyard.

Prices: from 5€ (dormitory max. 8 pers.) and from 30€ for a single room ! Taxes not included !
Free WIFI / possibility to rent bikes / bar and common rooms
Address: Boxhagener Str. 73, 10245 Berlin

5. Singer 109

Cheap and stylish, Singer 109 offers private rooms and spacious dormitories in a unique decor, nicely furnished. Set in a recently restored historic brick house, the hostel is located in a somewhat sad and even depressing area (unless you like the big socialist bars of the Karl Marx Allee), but convenient if you want to walk home from the Berghain. The location is nevertheless relatively central (15 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz), and allows easy access to the most interesting areas of Berlin: Mitte, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg. The huge atrium of the youth hostel is a meeting point for backpackers and provides a "luxurious youth hostel" atmosphere.

Price: 10-15€ (dormitory max. 6 people) and from 30€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bar / restaurant (breakfast for 5€) / spacious common rooms with games
Address: Singerstr. 109, 10179 Berlin

6. All in Hotels

All In Hostel is a comfortable and conveniently located establishment: just a stone's throw from Boxhagener Platz (where a market is held every Sunday), but also from the cafés, bars and restaurants of Friedrichshain.

Price: 10-15€ (dormitory max. 8 persons) and from 20€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bar - lounge very nice
Address: Grünberger Str. 54, 10245 Berlin

7. BackpackerBerlin

Located in a beautiful, historic street in Berlin, close to the cafés, bars and restaurants of the Friedrichshain district, this youth hostel has a quiet and peaceful setting. Decorated in a "cosy" style, the layout of the establishment gives the impression of living together in the same apartment (the privacy of each person's room is scrupulously respected!). The centre of the building serves as a common room, where you can meet for lunch or just chill out! If they are narrow, the rooms remain decorated in the spirit of "guest rooms" and are very bright. The people at the reception take time to advise us.

Price: 10-25€ (dormitory max. 4 people) and 15-20€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / /bike rental
!! The hostel asks to stay a minimum of 2 nights !!!
Address: Knorrpromenade 10, 10245 Berlin

8. Schlafmeile Hostel

Looking for a bed in Berlin? But really - just a bed? Schlafmeile is for you! Located in the heart of Friedrichshain, Schlafmeile offers comfortable and above all inexpensive beds. The staff is friendly and there to answer all possible and imaginable questions.

Adjacent to the Café-Lindsay, it's where everything happens: reception, wifi possible in the café, breakfasts, ...

Price: from 8€ (dormitory max. 10 people) and from 15-20€ for a single room.
Reception on request / No Wifi / no breakfast / no sheets or towels / animals not allowed / bike rental.
Address: Weichselstr. 26A, 10247 Berlin

9. Sunflower Berlin

The Sunflower Hostel is located just a few minutes away from the subway Warschauer Straße, the RAW Tempel and the bars of the Friedrichshain district. It's the ideal starting point for exploring Berlin by day and night.

Price: 10-15€ (dormitory max. 8 persons) and from 30€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bike hire
Address: Helsingforser Str. 17, 10243 Berlin

10. Pegasus Hostel Berlin

The hostel is housed in a typical old Berlin building with high ceilings, large windows, wooden floors and a beautifully furnished courtyard that beckons you to laze around. In the Pegasus Hostel, East meets West: the typical Berlin structure of the building contrasts with the multicultural interior enriched by its international staff and above all by its visitors. The only weak point is its location. Certainly close to the metro and not far from the Berghain, you will have to walk 20 minutes to reach the Boxhagener Platz and the heart of Friedrichshain with its cafés, bars and restaurants.

Price: 10-15€ (dormitory max. 8 persons) and from 20€ for a single room.
Free WIFI
Address: Str. der Pariser Kommune 35, 10243 Berlin
