Want to stay in Berlin's coolest district without blowing half a salary? To vibrate to the rhythm of Kreuzberg, the multicultural district where you can sprinkle your kebab with beer?

Look no further! We've listed the best youth hostels in Friedrichshain! Our selection is based on value for money, comfort, location and atmosphere.

1. Grand Hostel : The best hostel in Kreuzberg

The Rolls Royces of Berlin Youth Hostels! Well located near the district of Mehringdamm and the very pretty Bergmannstraße with its countless cafés, the hostel organizes group activities (tours and PUB crawls around town), a good way to get to know other travellers. While Grand Hostel emphasizes its old style (the building is more than a century old), the interior is in modern style. The bar-library, a meeting point for backpackers, is particularly nice and serves very good cocktails! The only drawback is that there is no common kitchen.

Price: from 17€ (dormitory max. 8 pers.) and from 37€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bike hire / very nice bar
Adress: Tempelhofer Ufer 14, 10963 Berlin

2. Three little pigs

The Three Little Pigs is located in a former monastery and is a little out of the way from the most popular places in Berlin, in an area that lacks a bit of charm (you'll just save time if you visit the Jüdisches Museum and the Berlinische Galerie). The rooms are beautiful and have high ceilings. The hostel is designed for groups of young people and offers great activities such as: Berlin night tours, table football tournaments and billiards in the common room - everything is done to make your stay in Berlin as enjoyable as possible!

Prices: from 13€ (dormitory max. 8 people) and from 34€ for a single room.
Free WIFI / bike hire / "all you can eat" buffet breakfast for 7€ / very cool common room with billiards and table football
Adress: Stresemannstraße 66, 10963 Berlin

3. Huetten Palast

Situated between Kreuzberg and Neukölln, the location is perfect if you want to experience something a little unusual in Berlin. The hostel also offers "normal" rooms, but it is above all its camping in the large reception hall of the building that makes us fall in love with it: whether you choose to sleep in a camper van, in a barrel or in a wooden hut, you will be charmed by the small colourful village atmosphere. We appreciate the originality of the hostel with its very FUN vintage decoration, its tree-lined courtyards, its cleanliness and its very friendly staff. Although it is located in a very lively area, - the establishment is quiet. Ideal location: close to the Weserstraße, one of the most popular streets in Neukölln where you can find many cafés, bars and restaurants.

Prices: depending on caravan, rooms, ...
Free WIFI / free parking / pet friendly / nice bar / private bathroom
Adress: Hobrechtstraße 65/66, 12047 Berlin

4. 36 Rooms

Enter as a customer, leave as a friend !

Adress: Spreewaldpl. 8, 10999 Berlin

5. The Cat’s Pajamas Hostel

Between Kreuzberg and Neukölln, Cat's Pyjamas Hostel is ideally located: just a stone's throw away from Weserstraße, one of Neukölln's most popular streets full of cafés, bars and restaurants. You will appreciate the decoration which combines Palette and Street art and plunges you into a young and modern atmosphere.

Price: from 13€ (dormitory max. 8 people) and from 55€ for a single room.
Adress: Urbanstraße 84, 10967 Berlin

6. Riverside lodge hostels

Charming little hostel, Riverside Lodge is situated in the centre of a quiet street, right on the waterfront, opposite the Paul-Lincke-Ufer in Berlin Kreuzberg, known for its many trendy cafés! Our tip? Rent bikes at the hostel and discover the beautiful paths along the river to the Badeschiff, the Arena, the East Side Gallery. Whether you want to reach Alexanderplatz, the East Berlin city centre or the Ku-Damm, Potsdamer Platz or the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag or Berlin's trendy districts, the Riverside Lodge allows you to cycle all over the city in half an hour.

Price: from 22€ (dormitory max. 6 persons)
Free WIFI
Adress: Hobrechtstr. 43, 12047 Berlin

7. Comebackpacker

In Kottbusser Tor, the subway exit may not seem inviting the first time, but once you get past the first impression, you'll see that it's the most lively district of the multi-kulti Berlin, between Turkish population and students. Located in the heart of Kreuzberg, it is surrounded by a multitude of busy cafes, bars and restaurants. The lobby is decorated in a "quiet afternoon at Granny's" style that calls for relaxation and chill out. If the establishment does not organize activities on its own to socialize with others it is because there is already so much to do next door!

Price: from 13€ (dormitory max. 16 people)
Adress: Adalbertstraße 97, 10999 Berlin

8. Acama hotel et Hostel

The establishment offers a view of the landwehr canal. The hotel has 150 rooms and 580 beds. The rooms are large and bright. Ideal for short stays visiting the capital. If you are looking for the typical youth hostel atmosphere and want to meet new people, this may not be the ideal place for you....

Price: from 20€ (max. room for 6 people) and from 50€ for a single room.
Free WIFI
Adress: Tempelhofer Ufer 8-9, 10963 Berlin

9. Metropol hostels

Located just outside the underground station in Mehringdamm, the hostel is in a very pleasant area with very pretty houses (or facades - your choice). To make sure you don't miss out on anything, the best currywurst in Berlin is just a few minutes walk away (link). The decoration is energizing and colourful - the ideal shelter for a weekend in Berlin - the city that BEARly sleeps!

Price: from 10€ (dormitory max. 10 people) and from 52€ for a single room.
Free WIFI
Adress: Mehringdamm 32, 10961 Berlin

10. Check-in Hostels

Rather for those who wish to visit Berlin from a historical point of view, the hostel is located close to Checkpoint Charly, the Jewish Museum, Potsdamer Platz, the Brandenburg Gate and other sights. On the other hand, if you want to go out or have dinner outside, you will need to walk a good ten minutes to reach Oranienplatz and its surroundings.

Prices: from 10€ (dormitory max. 10 people) and from 52€ for a single room.
Free WIFI
Adress: Markgrafenstr. 68 d, 10969 berlin
