Berlin is a city that happens outdoors. Even if the weather isn't always ideal, if you know where to go, you can enjoy wonderful outdoor moments here all year round. Here are 10 really good outdoor activities and experiences that you can try right away.

1. Cycling at Tempelhofer Feld – Freedom on the runway

The huge former Tempelhofer Feld airport offers miles of car-free paths – perfect for cycling, skating, or just rolling along.

Address: Tempelhofer Damm 106, 12099 Berlin
Tip: Best to go early in the evening during the week – the wind is mild then and you'll have the runway almost to yourself.

2. Canoe trip on the Spree – Berlin from the water

Between Treptow and Kreuzberg, you can see the city from a completely different perspective.

Rental station: Kanuliebe boat rental, Bulgarische Str. 62, 12435 Berlin
Tip: Start around 10 a.m., when the Spree is still calm and you'll encounter fewer excursion boats.

3. Jogging in the Tiergarten – the green classic

The Tiergarten is Berlin's most beautiful running park: wide paths, water, forests.

Recommended starting point: Hofjägerallee 1, 10785 Berlin
Tip: The 6 km loop around the lake is particularly pleasant and almost completely shaded.

4. Hiking in Grunewald – tranquility just 20 minutes from the city center

Grunewald offers fresh forest air, vineyards, lakes, and hills. A lovely walk for families with children, whether in spring, summer, fall, or even winter!

Route: Grunewald S-Bahn station → Teufelsberg → Havelchaussee (approx. 10 km)
Tip: Plan to watch the sunset at Teufelsberg – great view over West Berlin.

5. Wakeboarding at Jungfernheide beach

The facilities at Jungfernheide beach are ideal for all levels.

Address: Jungfernheideweg 60, 13629 Berlin
Tip: Get there early on hot days – sessions book up quickly.

6. Streetball in Mauerpark – spontaneous matches

The court in Mauerpark is one of the liveliest in the city.

Address: Gleimstraße 55, 10437 Berlin
Tip: Lots of good players come on Sundays from noon onwards – ideal for competitive 3-on-3 games.

7. Stand-up paddleboarding on Lake Müggelsee

Berlin's largest lake is perfect for SUP – lots of space, little current.

Rental: StandUpClub Berlin, Müggelseedamm 70, 12587 Berlin
Tip: In the morning, the water is as smooth as glass – fantastic photos guaranteed.

8. Climbing in the Jungfernheide forest high ropes course

A high ropes course in the middle of the park, ideal for groups or families.

Location: Waldhochseilgarten Jungfernheide, Heckerdamm 260, 13627 Berlin
Tip: The “Orange” and “Black” courses are athletic and really fun.

Between Oberbaum Bridge and the East Side Gallery, you get art, water, and skyline all at once.

Address: Mühlenstraße 3–100, 10243 Berlin
Tip: Sunrise at Oberbaum Bridge – one of the city's underrated photo spots.

10. Sunset at Tempelhof Harbor – relaxed & undiscovered

Tempelhof Harbor is less well known but beautiful. Cafés by the water, boats, quiet seating areas.

Address: Ordensmeisterstraße 1–3, 12099 Berlin
Tip: The perfect place for a quiet after-work beer without the crowds.

Berlin lives outdoors. Whether you're paddling on the water, roaming through forests, or simply chasing the sun, this city offers a piece of freedom around every corner. The best outdoor places and leisure activities are often those you discover by chance, but with the right tips, even a spontaneous evening after work can turn into a little adventure.
