The 10th True Italian Pizza Week Kicks Off in Berlin

The 10th True Italian Pizza Week Kicks Off in Berlin

Share

On October 15, 2026, it’s that time again: True Italian Pizza Week is celebrating its big anniversary! From October 15–25, 2026, 45 select pizzerias in Berlin alone invite you to discover the diversity, craftsmanship, and creativity of the local pizza scene. At the same time, the anniversary edition will also take place in Munich and Hamburg—a total of nearly 90 pizzerias across Germany will showcase Italian pizza culture at its best.

The Concept: Signature Pizza & Spritz for €18

The concept behind True Italian Pizza Week is incredibly simple: no tickets, no advance registration. If you’re in the mood for authentic Neapolitan, Roman, or modern pizza creations, just head to one of the participating pizzerias and order the Pizza Week menu.

  • The menu: One of two signature pizzas created especially for the event
  • The drink: A fresh Aperol Spritz or a non-alcoholic Crodino Spritz
  • The fixed price: Both together for just 18 €

Given today’s restaurant prices—where a Spritz in major cities often costs between 7 and 9 euros—Pizza Week offers an excellent opportunity to experience high-quality dining at a fair, fixed price. The focus is by no means on “low-cost” dining, but rather on pure discovery: guests are encouraged to try new restaurants, innovative pizzaioli, and extraordinary recipes.

What Defines Berlin’s Pizza Scene in 2026?

True Italian Pizza Week is far more than just a discount promotion: it’s a barometer for trends and developments in Berlin’s dining scene.

Which new pizzerias have opened in the neighborhoods? What flours, dough preparations, and toppings are the masters of their craft experimenting with?

  • Creative Toppings & Trendy Ingredients: This year, many pizzaioli are focusing on exciting ingredient combinations such as Bimi® broccoli, tangy spicy honey, pumpkin, or spicy salsiccia.
  • Classic Meets Vegan: In addition to Neapolitan classics, many restaurants (such as Lovebirds in Mitte with its vegan “Variccia”) are offering top-notch plant-based alternatives.
  • True Craftsmanship: Supported by professional partners like Le 5 Stagioni, the kitchens rely on long dough resting times and premium-quality flours.

This year’s participating top Berlin spots include Malafemmena, Prometeo, Lovebirds, Spaccanapoli No. 12, Capvin, Polin (Steglitz), and Denis Pizza Place (Wedding), among others.

10 Editions of a Success Story – Under the Patronage of Naples

What began in 2017 with 23 pizzerias in Berlin has grown into a true culinary phenomenon. In 2025 alone, over 6,000 Pizza Week menus were sold in Berlin as part of the campaign. The fact that the event will once again be held under the patronage of the City of Naples in 2026 underscores the authenticity and high quality standards of the project, which is organized by Berlin Italian Communication.

Guests can plan their very own pizza route through Berlin on the official True Italian website or using printed guide maps styled like subway maps (available at participating restaurants).

And for those who still haven’t had enough of Italian cuisine after Pizza Week: The 8th True Italian Pasta Week will follow immediately afterward, from November 12 to 22, 2026!
